If you have a high-efficiency (HE) front-loading machine, measure the correct amount of fabric softener using the fill lines in the measuring cap and pour it into the automatic softener dispenser tray at the same time you add detergent.
If you have a regular top-loading machine and an automatic machine dispenser (a cup-like device in the center column of the machine), measure the correct amount of fabric conditioner using the fill lines in the measuring cap, and pour it into the dispenser at the same time you add detergent.
If you don’t have a machine dispenser, the trick is knowing when to add fabric conditioner to the washing machine. It’s important to add the fabric conditioner during the rinse cycle, because the wash cycle can clean away the fabric conditioner. Just be sure to pour it into the water pockets, to prevent any chance of stains.

Yes! You should be able to use our Performance Laundry Fabric Softener with luxury cotton towels. Keep in mind that using fabric softeners may decrease the towels' level of absorption after washing. When used as directed, Laundry Sauce Performance Laundry Fabric Softener should not clog your washing machine. To keep your machine running smoothly, always use the recommended amount and avoid putting it directly in the drum (use the dispenser instead). For machines without a dispenser, add during the rinse cycle, not the wash cycle.
We do not recommend burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Trim wood wick to 5mm above wax. Only burn candle on a level , fire resistant surface. Remove all debris before lighting the candle. Stop using the candle when only ¼” of wax remains. Do not extinguish the candle with lid.
Great question! Wood-wicks are cut to a specification of .20” wood-wick length above the wax. This allows for the ideal wood-wick length for the initial lighting of the candle. Occasionally, a wood-wick may be cut shorter, which would be considered a defect, causing a wick to have trouble lighting or holding the flame. Additionally, due to the nature of wood-wicks being an all natural product, from time to time, there will be wood grains that cause the fuel source to deviate. The Ultimate Wick Channel does a very good job of improving the efficiency and stability of the flame but there might still be some outliers. Like a cotton wick, you want to trim your wooden wick before every burn. While the advised height for cotton wicks is ¼”, wooden wicks only need to be at 1/8″ – 3/16″. The shorter height allows the wax to capillary up the wick to feed the flame properly.
We recommend a nice pair of wick trimmers! It’s easy and neat since wick trimmers have a little spot to catch the debris that you’re trimming. If you don’t have a wick trimmer, you can easily break off the ashy part of the wooden wick with another tool. Do not attempt to trim your wick if the wick or wax is still hot. You want to wait for your candle to be cool before trimming the wick for safety reasons as well as easy maintenance if any debris falls off while trimming.

However, Laundry Sauce fragrances are made with more high-quality natural essential oils than any other laundry detergent, and natural essential oils do contain potential allergens, so we can’t guarantee our formulas are completely hypoallergenic.

While Laundry Sauce was developed to fight tough stains in both cold water and warm water wash cycles, sometimes stains “set” during a wash and/or drying cycle, which can make tough stains challenging to remove using laundry detergent alone.
If your garment is soiled with grease and/or oil we recommend pre-treating the stain with a solvent-based stain remover. For example, you can rub certain types of dish soap in the soiled area, allow the dish soap to sit for 15-30 minutes before washing, wash the garment as usual using the hottest water setting that is safe for the garment. Before drying the garment, check to see if the stain is completely gone. If any trace of the stain remains, repeat the pre-treatment process before drying and rewash, if the stain is gone, you can finish with the drying cycle.
Laundry Sauce pods do not contain Cocamidopropyl Betaine. However, some of our ingredients are derived from natural sources such as palm kernel or coconut oil. Hang or lay flat the garment: Before applying fabric refresher spray, make sure the garment is either hanging or laid flat on a surface. This allows for even application and better results.
Spray evenly across the fabric: Hold the bottle 6 to 12 inches away from the garment and spray evenly across the fabric. Focus on the wrinkled areas, but avoid saturating the fabric too much.
Smooth and stretch the fabric: After spraying, gently smooth and stretch the fabric with your hands to help release the wrinkles. For tougher wrinkles, you might need to tug a bit more firmly.
Once done, let the garment air dry for a few minutes. The wrinkles should diminish as the fabric dries, leaving your clothes looking neater, free of static cling and smelling luxurious.

Yes! Our pods are septic system safe. The pod membrane is made from Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA), a water-soluble material that dissolves and biodegrades within hours in septic systems and wastewater treatment facilities. For more details, see this article from the American Cleaning Institute.
We collaborate with the top perfumers in the world, designing luxury fragrances blended in North America using the highest quality natural fragrance ingredients, no parabens, no phthalates and no GMOs. While most of our signature scents are not certified hypoallergenic, we do offer Himalayan Cashmere—a scent that is certified hypoallergenic and independently lab-tested for sensitive skin. We recommend using laundry detergents specifically marked 'Safe for Babies' for washing infants' and children's clothing. While our products are gentle and thoughtfully formulated, they have not been specifically tested or certified for use on baby items.
To remove any pod film, gently scrub the affected clothes with a little dish soap, let them soak for a bit, and then wash them in warm water.
For future reference, here’s how we recommend using the Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods: For front-loading machines, place liquid laundry detergent pod directly to the back of the bottom of the wash drum (not into the special compartment marked for detergent). For a regular top-loading machine, place the pod directly to the back of the bottom of the wash drum to evenly distribute the detergent in the water before it hits your clothes. Add clothes and start the machine. Line dry or tumble dry on low heat setting for maximum scent strength.

Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods should be stored in their original containers, with the lid closed and secured when not in use. Keep the pods out of the reach and sight of children and pets. Recommended storage conditions are 77°F and 50% relative humidity. Storing the laundry pods in humid areas can cause them to stick together. Laundry Pods should always be handled with dry hands.
Laundry Sauce Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods are free from parabens, phthalates, and phosphates. Phthalates are thought to be endocrine disruptors and we are happy to say that Laundry Sauce’s Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods currently do not contain any known endocrine disrupting materials.

Yes — Laundry Sauce pods have a shelf life of 1–2 years, depending on storage conditions. They won't spoil in a harmful way, but cleaning and scent effectiveness diminishes after roughly 2 years. Store at 77°F and 50% relative humidity for best results.
While we occasionally have customers who love our fragrances so much that they consider using the liquid for general cleaning purposes, such as mopping floors or wiping surfaces, we recommend only using these pods for laundry use.

In most cases, Laundry Sauce Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods will work great when washing down pillows, but always read the care instructions provided by the pillow manufacturer. Front-loading washing machines with no agitators work best, but any washer can be used as long as the pillows fit properly. To avoid having the feathers clump together, we recommend using our Wool Dryer Balls during the drying cycle.

When we started Laundry Sauce, we decided to prioritize the convenience, quality and cleaning performance of our pods. Now that we’re growing, we’re researching ways to make more sustainable swaps that either maintain or improve upon convenience, quality and performance. We are testing PVOH alternative membranes, such as seaweed-based membranes. However, it is worth noting that the PVOH used in our Liquid Laundry Detergent Pods are biodegradable, so it won't harm the environment, keeping everything clean and safe for us all. Laundry Dryer Sheets are made using a non-woven polyester substrate, a synthetic fiber that can take time to decompose in landfills. While our Product Development team works to find an alternative, we have chosen to use 60% post-consumer recycled materials for our product packaging to be more eco-conscious.
